John 2 records Jesus’ first miracle, the turning of water into wine. This has been the subject of much controversy in the faith community. Should believers drink alcohol or not? Alcohol, falling into 3 categories, beer, wine & spirits.
Does the Bible give clear and concise permission or prohibitions into the topic of Christians drinking. Of course, the Word is Very clear on excessive drinking and being intoxicated, “filled” with wine. But what about an occasional glass of wine with or after dinner? Or, a cold one after a hard day of work? How about champagne while celebrating a marriage or some other momentous occasion?
What are your thoughts on this rather “taboo” subject? I’ll share mine in my next blog. Stay tuned (and sober) 🙂
